Developers are introducing a slew of innovative concepts to entice buyers, meet anticipated needs and fulfil rising market expectations. With the stiff competition in a lukewarm property market which differs markedly from a decade ago, developers are striking out with new initiatives to capture the imagination of purchasers. In this article, FocusM identifies several new trends. Taking the concept of entertainment literally one notch higher, M101 Entity Sdn Bhd recently unveiled its iconic M101 SkyWheel in Kuala Lumpur that is set to redefine the city skyline. Its founder Datuk Seth Yap Ting Hau says the two towers, state-of-the-art development with a total gross development value of RM1.4 bil, will house Southeast Asia’s highest Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel will be positioned on the 52nd floor in an all-in-one integrated commercial and retail development. It will also feature the world’s highest shopping experience with a SkyMall that extends from the 48th to 52nd levels with over 200,000 sq ft of retail space amid panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
